postgresql-copy-escape: Format data to feed to a PostgreSQL COPY FROM statement
This is a package candidate release! Here you can preview how this package release will appear once published to the main package index (which can be accomplished via the 'maintain' link below). Please note that once a package has been published to the main package index it cannot be undone! Please consult the package uploading documentation for more information.
Warnings:
- 'ghc-options: -O2' is rarely needed. Check that it is giving a real benefit and not just imposing longer compile times on your users.
In PostgreSQL, the COPY
statement [1] provides a fast way to perform bulk
insertion and retrieval. To use COPY ... FROM
for bulk insertion, the
data must first be converted to a special CSV-like format.
This package provides basic support for converting data to the format
needed by COPY ... FROM
. However, it does not provide the inverse
operation (namely, reading data produced by COPY ... TO
), nor does it
support formatting customizations (what delimiter to use, how to represent
NULL, etc.).
