A person who archives things in archives is called an archivist. Things that have to do with archives are said to be archival. This word has other uses as well. In the world of photocopying, for example, a copy that doesn't deteriorate over time is said to be archival. A Xerox copy is archival ; a copy made on heat sensitive paper by a facsimile machine is not.
